40 years without Hans Scharoun 1893-1972

On November 25, will mark the 40th anniversary of the death of the architect Hans Scharoun.

Hans Scharoun is one of the most important exponents of organic architecture, which is a stream of classical modernism. Always fought for harmonious interaction, vibrant and functioning of buildings and landscape.
Scharoun was born in 1893 and raised in Bremen, studied up to 13 years in Bremerhaven, a port city impressions that became his identity and included in many buildings and projects with steel stairs, handrails and railings and balustrades and balconies are elements typical that can be found in the Schminke House.

After World War II he was able to realize his knowledge of architecture, both ambitious and humanist, for example, in the Stuttgart apartment towers of Romeo and Juliet (1954-59), in the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Lünen (1956-1962) and the famous Philharmonic concert hall in Berlin (1956-1963).
The Philharmonic Concert Hall, is recognized internationally as one of the most successful buildings of its kind, is considered the best work of Scharoun. Around the central podium musicians, are the rows of spectators, which increase in irregularly placed terraces.
The German Embassy in Brasilia (1963-69) remains the only building that was built outside Germany.

On November 25, 1972, died in Berlin Hans Scharoun.
