Metropol Parasol, Seville

The Plaza de la Encarnación is a place nestled in the heart of historic Seville. Throughout its history was the commercial and economic center of the city, given its strategic central location in the north-south axis.
In 2003, he convened an international ideas competition to redesign the plaza, taking account of the excavations. The contest was intended to focus the interest on the urban potential inherent inthe reorganization of the Plaza de la Encarnación. The proposal called Metropol Parasol, JürgenMayer of Berlin, was the winner of the contest.
In the basement is located the Museum “Antiquarium”, designed by architect Philip PalominoGonzalez Seville.
In 2011 the works have been completed and people have accepted the building from different points of view. The video includes the previous state, the development of the work and the final result.
